Some time ago I received the following  email from a Muslim friend:
“You say that God ‘s hands are tied  by his own laws. You write, ‘God can  do anything except deny himself and  ignore his own laws. ‘ Why should our  Creator impose such a constraint on his  mercy? Even if he made such a law, he  could break it straightaway since he is  all-powerful! He can choose to forgive  sin without punishing it. He can forgive  just like that.”
